Dear Reader,

We regret to share that there was an error in the reported rankings on our recent list of the 2007 Outreach 100 list of the Fastest-Growing U.S. Churches. While the numerical and percentage growth figures on the original list were correct, the ranking (determined by an average of the percentage and numerical growth figures) was not right.

The list that is now posted on the site is accurate. (click here)

A copy of the revised listings will also be included in the November/December issue of Outreach and has been sent to each of the churches on the list.

Outreach magazine strives for accurate, responsible journalism and it is in this spirit that we now report and amend the list. For any confusion, frustration or other problem caused by our error, we are truly sorry.

On a personal note, I am grateful that attendance figures, list rankings, or even embarrassing publishing errors cannot diminish God’s work in and through His Church. It’s our privilege to share these stories with you in each issue of Outreach in hopes that they will inspire you to reach someone else for Christ – and we will continue to do that.

We also stand by the good work of our partner Dr. Ed Stetzer and our friends at Lifeway Research. Together we are investigating what appears to have been an unfortunate communications error and are working together to ensure the accuracy of this report in the future.
