Super Bowl Outreach Event
Super Bowl XLVI Viewing Events
Feb. 5, 2012
Churches Nationwide
The cultural phenomenon that is the Super Bowl will dominate the country once again this Feb. 5. With resources like the Power to Win! outreach kit or a free online video from The Adoption Journey, it’s a great opportunity to share your faith, build connections and have fun in a safe environment by holding a viewing party at your church. (Parties must be free and on church grounds.)
The Power to Win! kit from Sports Spectrum, a Christian sports magazine based outside of Charlotte, N.C., includes a DVD that can be shown during halftime. The DVD features testimonies from current and former National Football League players and Super Bowl champions, including Jeff Saturday and Hunter Smith from the Indianapolis Colts; London Fletcher, who won a Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams and currently plays for the Washington Redskins; and Heath Evans from the New Orleans Saints.
Since Power to Win! was introduced 20 years ago, more than 2 million people have attended in excess of 60,000 Super Bowl outreach parties with about 65,000 people making decisions for Christ.
The Adoption Journey is offering a free online video kit that features Tony Dungy, head coach of the Indianapolis Colts when they won Super Bowl XLI in 2007. In the message, Dungy discusses the orphan crisis and makes a personal appeal for American families to consider adoption.
